Better Hearing Institute
The Better Hearing Institute is a nonprofit educational organization established
in 1973 to inform the public --- particularly the hearing-impaired public ---
about hearing loss and rehabilitation. Public education and information activities
include public radio and television announcements, feature stories in broadcast
and print media, audiovisual aids, exhibits, conferences, and a speakers bureau.
The Institute distributes hearing education publications and answers telephone
and written requests for information. A toll-free Hearing HelpLine
provides assistance to hearing-impaired persons, hearing field professionals,
and consumer affairs personnel.
