Which brand of hearing aid do you need earmold replacements parts for?
Why do I need Replacement tubes and domes?
The new open ear hearing aids and standard custom earmolds for BTE (Behind-The-Ear) hearing aids both use a tube to 'pipe' the sound from the hearing aid into the ear canal. This 'pipe' or tube, along with it's tip, are commonly call an earmold. All tubes start to discolor and get stiff with age and will need to be replaced after a few months. They are easy to change, you can do it at home. The tubes are very inexpensive.
The new style open ear hearing aids use a very small, 1 mm inside diameter, tube with a mushroom shaped dome on the end. Standard BTE hearing aids use a much larger 12 - 13 mm tube connected to a custom earmold that fills the ear canal and holds the tube in place.
Replacement earmolds, the tubes and tips, not only look and feel better but they also help your BTE and Open Ear hearing aids fit better. Your tubes and domes should be replaced about once every three months, for your hearing aid to work it's best. As tubes and domes age they lose their pliability and discolor. Stiff, yellowing tubes should be replaced along with the domes or tips. Choose your tubes, domes and tips based on your brand of hearing aid.
Open ear earmolds all require a dome or tip on the end of the tube that goes into the ear canal. The dome/tips slide onto the earmold tube to center it in the ear canal. Most manufacturer's domes/tips will interchange and fit other manufacturer's tubes. Call for details if you are seeking a better or more comfortable fit of your open ear hearing aids.
